Morf is an automation and patient engagement platform that empowers healthcare providers to eliminate tedious administrative tasks and focus on patient care as they grow. You can think about it a bit like Zapier, but purpose built for healthcare.

About the Role

This is a high-ownership position. You'd be our primary backend engineer, working closely with the CEO, part-time frontend engineer, and our customer success / solution engineering team. You'll inherit a mature Go monorepo powering dozens of healthcare integrations and a workflow orchestration engine, and you'll be responsible for keeping it stable, evolving the infrastructure, building new integrations, and shipping features that directly impact our customers. We're looking for someone who thinks like a product engineer: you care as much about what the user experiences as you do about what's under the hood, and you're comfortable flexing into frontend work when the team needs it.

You'll also own how we use AI internally. We're a small team with a big backlog, and the person in this seat sets up the systems and workflows that let us punch above our weight, then keeps them sharp as the tooling evolves.

Who We're Looking For

• You've been a primary or solo backend engineer at a small company and thrived in that environment
• You measure success in terms of business impact, not lines of code
• You have deep empathy for the end-user and enjoy collaborating cross-functionally
• You want to own how we use AI as a team. You'll build the internal tooling, agents, and workflows that let a small team move faster than its headcount, and you'll keep us current as the tools change
• You're happy to step outside pure engineering when it counts. SOC 2 means audits, pen tests, and policy updates, and you'd rather jump in than wait for someone else to pick it up
• You prefer simple, composable solutions over clever ones
• You have good intuition for what will last and scale
• Fluent in English

Technical Requirements

• Strong Go experience — this is the language you'll live in day-to-day
• Experience building and operating distributed systems in production (5+ years)
• Comfort with service-oriented architecture, gRPC/protobuf, and designing clean APIs
• Experience working with third-party APIs — building integrations, handling auth, pagination, retries, and the general messiness of the real world
